Privacy
The short version: your files stay on your device. We never see them.
Files are processed locally in your browser and never uploaded. When you open a file in MegaRows, it is read by your own browser on your own device. Its contents, its name and its size are never sent to us or to anyone else.
Your files
MegaRows is a website that runs entirely in your browser. Counting, viewing, charting and converting all happen on your device, using background threads (Web Workers) built into your browser. We do not run servers that receive or store your files, so there is nothing for us to keep, share or lose. You can confirm this in your browser’s developer tools: the Network tab shows no upload when you open a file.
Analytics
We may use privacy-friendly, cookie-less analytics (such as Cloudflare Web Analytics) to count page views and see which pages are popular. These analytics do not use cookies, do not track you across websites and never include anything about your files.
Cookies and local storage
MegaRows does not set cookies. Your browser’s local storage is used only to remember your light or dark theme choice, and that setting never leaves your device.
Hosting
The website is served by Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes basic technical data (such as your IP address and browser type) to deliver the pages and protect them from abuse. Your files are never part of this.
Feedback
If you use the feedback form, we receive what you type, your email address if you choose to give one, the page you sent it from, the MegaRows version and a coarse browser and operating system label (for example “Chrome 140 on macOS”). It is sent to our own server at megarows.com and stored in our private feedback tracker (Notion). We never receive your file names or file contents. We use your email only to reply to you.
